BERKS COUNTY, Pa. - The United States Naval Academy is mourning one of their own after a midshipman died on Friday in a car crash in Pennsylvania.
According to WFMZ in Allentown, Austin Zalik died on Friday. The Berks County Coroner says Zalik was sitting at a Shell gas station in his car near I-78 when his car started moving down an embankment and onto the highway.
A tractor trailer then struck his car and killed him. Investigators say they believe Zalik fell asleep and bumped the car into gear causing the crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
