ANNAPOLIS, Md. -  A man who was paid by a distant cousin to kill her employer because she was stealing from him has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms.

Twenty-five-year-old Dante Jeter of Baltimore was sentenced Tuesday for felony first-degree murder in the September 2006 beating and stabbing death of 51-year-old Albert Ro.

Ro, a dentist, employed 37-year-old Shontay Hickman of Baltimore. She stole $17,000 in insurance reimbursement checks from Ro. She paid Jeter $1,000 to kill Ro before he could turn her in.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that Hickman pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. She testified against Jeter.
