ANNAPOLIS, Md. - An Anne Arundel County jury has reached a verdict in the slaying of Correctional Officer Corporal David McGuinn.

After a week of deliberations, Lee Edward Stephens, who was an inmate at the time of the Corporals' death, has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

Stephens has been on trial since January 11 for the 2006 killing at the now closed Maryland House of Correction in Jessup.

Sentencing will begin on Monday morning as prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Edwards will make the official decision on whether he wants the judge or the trial jury to determine his sentence.
