ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) - Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold will not take the stand in his own defense, as testimony wrapped up after just six days.

This morning, the defense called another doctor, who vouched for Leopold's back problems.

Also, the personnel officer for County Government testified that Leopold returned $5,000 following a mandatory pay raise.

Judge Sweeney allowed the now four charges to stick after a second attempt to have them dropped,.

"The judge is moving forward with the charges against him, and I should see that as a good sign," says Karla Hamner who has filed her own civil lawsuit against the County Executive.

Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.

Leopold faces three counts of misconduct in office and one count of fraud for misusing County money.
