ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -

The Anne Arundel County Medical Center says a Kent County woman has given birth to quadruplets.

The hospital says Mary Voelcker gave birth to the four babies Nov. 1.

Voelcker and her husband already have a 3-year-old son, so the births more than doubled the size of their family.

The hospital says the births took about an hour and all are doing well.

The four were born about eight weeks premature.

Dr. Anthony Moorman of Chestertown says the four babies will remain in the hospital for the next few weeks, which is standard procedure for premature births.

The babies weighed between 2 pounds, 6 ounces and 4 pounds, 10 ounces.
