HANOVER, Md - You can expect some road closures and delays around Arundel Mills in Anne Arundel County when the Maryland Live! Casino opens at the Arundel Mills Mall.
The Cordish Company is behind the $5 million dollar traffic and road updates project.
The Diverging Diamond Interchange is the first of its kind in Maryland. The new interchange is at Route 295 and Arundel Mills Boulevard in Hanover.
Construction began May 1 and the Cordish Company hopes the interchange will ease traffic at the new casino when it opens Wednesday evening.
Drivers traveling on Route 295 south toward Washington, D.C. heading to the mall will be diverted to Route 175.
Roadway construction should be completed this month while construction debris removal, final stabilization and any remaining utility adjustments will be made in July.
