The Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is experiencing heavy flight delays and cancellations.

Most flights in and out of BWI have been canceled or delayed.

The airport is advising all passengers of out-going flights and in-coming flights to check with their airline before coming to the airport.

Prior to leaving for the airport you can check with the airport by clicking here .

Here are some tips if your flight has been canceled or delayed.

If your flight is canceled or delayed, immediately get in line and listen to the gate agent; at the same time, call the airline (it may be quicker).

To avoid flight delays and canceled flights, when booking try to book flights with early departures to avoid the cascading effect of delays, also book non-stops, fewer stops means fewer airports to get stuck in.

Always have a back up plan. Make sure your mobile device is fully charged, pack some food, and have a few numbers of hotels close to the airports.

Due to the severe weather in the area the MTA will only operate the Penn Line MARC service on Thursday. There will be no service on the Camden or Brunswick Lines. The Penn Line service will run on the S schedule.

MTA Commuter Buse customers should also consult the MTA website for schedule updates.

MTA Customers can also call the information center beginning at 4:00 a.m. for service updates at 410-539-5000.
