Anne Arundel County is reporting a case of West Nile Virus.
The Department of Health says the case is the first person this year to get the virus in the county.
There were three cases of the virus last year, but none reported in 2008 and 2009.
West Nile is carried by mosquitoes and affects the nervous system.
The Department of Health recommends trying to avoid West Nile by wearing clothing and sprays to repel mosquitoes and staying away from standing water.
