MILLERSVILLE, Md - UPDATE| A second person, Jianguo Pan, has died after a head-on collision on I-97 in Millersville.
A woman from Pasadena has died after driving south in the northbound lane of I-97 in Millersville and hitting another car.
ABC2 News spoke with Maryland State Police dispatchers who say the crash happened just after 1:30am Thursday morning on I-97 at Benfield Road.
Police say that after preliminary investigation they found that a 2007 Hyundai Accent, driven by Kelley Lynn Whitt, was traveling south in the northbound lane of I-97 and hit 2002 Honda Accord, driven by Jianguo Pan.
Whitt, 25, from Pasadena, was declared dead on the scene. Pan, 64, of Glen Burnie was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and has life-threatening injuries.
State troopers shut down down both northbound and southbound lanes. Troopers temporarily shut down the southbound lane so that Medevac could land and took one driver to Shock Trauma. All lanes are now open.
