Girl, 18, hit by Mack truck dies

HANOVER, Md. (WMAR) -  

An 18-year-old girl is dead after police say she was hit by a Mack truck on Route 295 earlier today.
 
Maryland State Police responded to Route 295 at Arundel Mills Boulevard at about 2:00 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian accident/
 
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a Mack truck was traveling north on 295 in the right lane when the teen, Chelsea Ann Combes, of Severn, suddenly walked from the right shoulder into the travel lane where she was hit by the truck. 
 
She was taken to Shock Trauma but later died of her injuries. 
 
The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash. 
 
The crash remains under investigation.
