ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) -

Several vehicles were damaged when a gasoline tanker truck caught on fire at a marina Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say the fire broke out at about 3:25 p.m. at a marina on Edgewood Road in Annapolis as the 5,000 gallon tanker was off loading fuel.

First arriving units found the truck engulfed in flames, but were able to quickly extinguish the flames using a foam, before anyone got hurt.

Maryland Department of the Environment spokesperson Jay Apperson says crews are on the scene trying to figure out exactly how much fuel spilled into the water, but say that about half of the tanker was still full of fuel.

The flames were called under control at about 4:00 p.m., but only after at least 3 vehicles were damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
