Firefighters put their lives on the line to protect us every day.

Later Wednesday, a group of firefighters in Anne Arundel County will be doing something special to help save from breast cancer.

Late Wednesday morning, firefighters from local 1563 will make a huge donation to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

They raised $10,000 for breast cancer awareness.

You remember the big race last year in hunt valley, we were there as thousands poured out in the fight against breast cancer.

Members at local 1563 decided they wanted to do something too.  They wore special t-shirts with the pink ribbon as their uniform during the month of October.

The shirts were made and the entire project was organized by firefighters at the union.  All the proceeds from the shirts are going toward the donation later today.

Want to help, too?

Visit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Maryland site to donate.
