ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WMAR) - An Anne Arundel County man is dead after police say he fell off his boat while crabbing on the Patuxent River and was hit by it's spinning propeller.

Maryland Natural Resources Police have identified the man as Lewis Jack Sprouse, 29, of Harwood. NRP says Sprouse was running a crabbing line when his foot got tangled and he was pulled overboard.

Witnesses told police that the boat was still running when he went in and was spinning in circles before it came to a stop when his body was hit by the propeller.

Sprouse's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
