GALESVILLE, Md. - Police from the Department of Natural Resources discovered the body of a man on the West River outside Annapolis Monday afternoon.
The DNR Police say that officers were called at 3:24 p.m. Monday to perform a welfare check on a boat that had been anchored in the West River.
When officers arrived at the boat, they discovered the body of a deceased man on the vessel.
Officers then called the medical examiner to the scene of the boat to investigate.
The medical examiner told the NRP Special Operations Investigators that the man had been dead "for awhile."
The body was being transported to Baltimore by the medical examiner for further testing.
The identity of the man has not been released.
There is no word if investigators suspect foul play.
NRP Special Operations continue to investigate.
