SANDY POINT, Md. - The Maryland Natural Resources Police is still searching for a missing man days after his boat capsized near Sandy Point.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Jonathan Lindberg says the search pattern for a missing 25 year-old man shifted south on Sunday morning based on currents and the flow of the Bay. The Coast Guard, Anne Arundel County Fire and the Maryland State Police concentrated on the area between Sandy Point and Kent Island.
According to authorities, 40-year-old, Daniel Denike of Laurel was pulled from the water and taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center where he died.
25 year-old, Taylor Rogers was rescued Saturday and is still recovering from hypothermia.
The third victim, Tyler Cordrey, 25, of Eden remains missing.
Captain James Rostek with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department says they received a 911 call from one of the victims in the accident as the sailboat was sinking and he was in the water.
The accident happened at around 2:40 pm Saturday afternoon.
Crews have recovered the sailboat, but are still searching for the cause of the accident.
