ANNAPOLIS, Md. - UPDATE: Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen announced Sunday afternoon that the non-essential water use order for the City of Annapolis has been lifted. The Water Treatment Plant has full power and all water tanks have been filled to normal levels.

The city of Annapolis is asking residents to limit their water use because the city treatment plant is running on generator power and is not operating at its full capacity.

Friday's storm cut power to the Annapolis Water Treatment Plant.

Residents should only use water for essential purposes. City spokeswoman Rhonda Wardlaw says that will give firefighters and other emergency workers have the water they need.

The restrictions may be in effect until Monday.
