A few hundred people walk and run for a girl with cancer

Her nickname is Peanut, but it was no small crowd that came to support Caitlyn Zabko.

The four year old joined walkers and runners in Millersville Saturday morning, for a 5k race. Caitlyn has to miss pre-school to undergo chemotherapy and surgery that is set for the end of the month.

She was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma and will need to have the tumor near her spine removed. A few hundred people burned off some calories, and about $6,000 was raised to help cover Caitlyn's medical expenses.

"It covers things that insurance does not cover. We're thankful for today," said Mike Zabko, Caitlyn’s dad.

Caitlyn's parents hope the event raises awareness of Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare cancer that affects one in a million children each year.

The symptoms are often different in every patient, so doctors say it's best to pay attention to any changes in your child's health.
