EDGEWATER, Md. -
Another person has been hit by a vehicle in Anne Arundel County .
At about 6:19 p.m. Wednesday a 51-year-old woman was hit while crossing East Central Avenue, near West Shore Road, in Edgewater.
Police say that Susan Harris ran into the roadway from Michael Maszczenski’s right, and hit the right side of his truck. He was driving East in the farthest right travel lane.
The right side of Maszczenski’s Ford F-150 Pickup hit Harris’ head, and the mirror fell to the road.
Maszczenski stopped at the scene and waited until emergency crews arrived.
Harris was sent by helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where she is in critical condition.
An investigation is still underway, but police said there is no indication that alcohol and/or vehicle speed were factors contributing to the collision.
