Police say excessive speed was a major factor in the crash on Marley Neck Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The collision happened Sunday afternoon when the driver of a Mazda-3 crossed a double line trying to pass traffic in a no-passing zone.
It hit a Pontiac Grand-Am and caused a fiery crash.
Two people were inside both cars. They all died at the scene.
At this point police do not know if drugs or alcohol played a factor, but people who know the road say it's often used to drag race.
The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Joseph Oliver of Glen Burnie, 18-year-old Crystal Benton of Laurel, 21-year-old Brittney Ziegler of Pasadena and 3-year-old Lilly Gross of Glen Burnie.
