FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) - Mitt Romney is coming home -- this time as the likely Republican presidential nominee.
Romney on Tuesday returns to Michigan, where his father served as governor and ran a car company, American Motors. He says he thinks he can win here, and is telling reporters that would hand him the presidency.
Still, Romney could face trouble in Michigan because of his opposition to federal bailouts for General Motors and Chrysler. Democrats have repeatedly attacked him for opposing a popular initiative that saved both companies.
He's planning three campaign stops, concluding a five-day, six-state bus tour through the Midwest.
