A Wiccan chaplin may go on the payroll in California. A federal appeals court has given new life to a decades-long battle by Wiccan inmates for their own full-time chaplain.
California prisons now hire chaplains and spiritual leaders to serve Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Protestant and Native American inmates.
The appeals court says Wiccans are making a compelling argument they need a chaplin too. A lower court is being ordered to reconsider the case
