The TSA is going the extra mile this holiday travel season, helping passengers with special needs.

They're operating a telephone hotline called "TSA Cares."  People who need help getting through security can call the number before they get to the airport.

Agents answer questions and help callers set up special screening requests.

The hotline will be available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 9 pm.

The TSA has been criticized recently for intrusive and embarrassing pat-downs that have been performed on people with medical issues.
