Baltimore's Michael Phelps is looking to make a big splash this morning at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials.
Phelps has decided he will go for the 400-meter individual medley, a grueling event he holds the records for.
Preliminaries start at 11 Monday morning in Omaha, Nebraska.
This will be Phelps final Olympic trials. He says he will retire after the London games.
Phelps he will likely swim in 6 or 7 events.
When he hits the pool later to vie for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, he will face rival Ryan Lochte.
Phelps says he's ready for the big match, but the two are keeping the rivalry friendly.
Phelps has shaved his mustache in preparation for the trials.
The summer Olympics in London start on July 27th.
