Federal and state officials in New Jersey say they've cracked a major heroin network that was supplying dealers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington.

New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa (kee-AY'-sah) says authorities arrested 15 people and seized three kilograms of bulk heroin and nearly 500 bricks of heroin that were ready for resale.

The attorney general says the network operated out of a series of heroin mills and stash houses in Paterson.

The alleged leader, 36-year-old Segundo Garcia of Prospect Park, N.J., is charged with leading a narcotics trafficking network.

All of the other suspects face a variety of drug charges.

   Two remain at large.
