WASHINGTON (AP) -

President Barack Obama is expected to nominate White House chief of staff Jack Lew as Treasury secretary as early as today.

Lew is a premier federal budget expert and administration insider and if confirmed by the Senate, would replace Timothy Geithner.

Some Republicans complain that Lew has been too unyielding in past fiscal negotiations.
