CNN -

One of the year's hottest video games is touted for its realism, thanks to contributions from real-life Navy SEALS.

Now those servicemen who helped make the new "Medal of Honor" game -- are being punished.

Seven Navy SEALS were reprimanded for providing classified information to the video game publisher electronic arts.

The move means they will be ineligible for promotion and essentially ends their military careers. They were accused of showing their official combat gear and disclosing classified material.
