GRANDVIEW, Mo. -
One local family is able to find some humor in a time of mourning. Loren Lickteig, an Air Force veteran and former Grandview councilman, passed away Nov. 14.
His obituary, printed in The Kansas City Star, reads as follows:
"Loren G. 'Sam' Lickteig passed away on Nov. 14, 2012 of complications from MS and heartbreaking disappointment caused by the Kansas City Chiefs."
Lickteig's daughter, Jennifer, said her dad was a longtime Chiefs fan.
"My dad was such a comedian," she said. "He loved the Chiefs, so we had to let him have the last word."
"If we weren't laughing, we'd be crying," daughter Diana Hennessey said.
Lickteig did not write his own obituary, but his daughters said he would have approved of the humor many are finding in it.
The obituary comes the same dayas a 28-6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals where many Chiefs fans donned black at Arrowhead Stadium in protest of the season and General Manager Scott Pioli.
The Chiefs are 1-9.
