The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of LG's smooth top electric ranges.
The commission says that the burners on the ranges don't turn off properly, and temperature settings increase unexpectedly while customers are using them.
LG has received nearly 80 reports of consumers experiencing these problems.
Officials say the defects can cause burn and fire hazards.

Contact LG if you still own one of the aforementioned ranges.
The commission suggests that customers stop using the ranges, and call for a free in-home repair at 855-400-4638.
