TOLEDO, Ohio - A new campaign video for the Ohio congressional candidate known as "Joe the Plumber" implies that German gun controls contributed to deaths during the Holocaust because people didn't have firearms to defend themselves.

The video shows Samuel Wurzelbacher taking shooting practice outdoors as narration talks about gun controls imposed by the Germans in 1939, before millions were exterminated. Then Wurzelbacher says, "I love America."

Wurzelbacher is running as a Republican in Ohio's 9th district.

Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern called the video "incredibly offensive."

The head of the National Jewish Democratic Council said the ad is inappropriate and called for an apology.

A message was left Wednesday for Wurzelbacher, who became known as "Joe the Plumber" during the 2008 presidential campaign.
