READING, Pa. - Police say a homeless man has been arrested in a fatal stabbing that happened outside a bar in downtown Reading.
The Reading Eagle reports police arrested 42-year-old Raymond A. Kahlief-Searles Jr. shortly after the altercation, which happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday outside Maria's Lounge & Restaurant.
Police say he'd been trying to fight people when he and the victim were thrown out by staff. The two continued to argue outside.
Investigators say Kahlief-Searles stabbed the victim several times in the chest as shocked office workers and others watched. At least one bystander tried to intervene. Police say the suspect threatened that man, who pulled a handgun and fired shots in the air.
The victim's name was not released. It wasn't immediately clear if the suspect had an attorney.
