No cash to leave a tip? No problem! A college graduate in New York has invented a device that will let you use your credit card to leave tips.
With more people using cards instead of cash, workers are finding their tip jars becoming more and more empty. Ryder Kessler, 26, came up with the DipJar to solve that problem. It pre-sets the amount to a dollar and allows you to swipe your card again to tip the worker.
DipJar is still in the process of testing out the product. Since there is an electronic record of all tips collected with DipJar, the workers must be extra careful to accurately report them to the I-R-S.
