SWANSEA, Ill. -
A father in Illinois is facing backlash this morning for how he punished his daughter.
Montrail White showed the sign he ordered his daughter to wear, it reads, "I like to steal from others and lie about it".
He says his eight-year-old daughter has taken things from her teacher and from home.
The superintendent doesn’t question white's right to discipline his daughter, but says it caused too much of a scene on the busy school parking lot.
He says the girl's dad was cursing when asked to remove the sign or move off school property, so he called police.
