YAMHILL, Ore. (AP) -- Missy, the little dachshund, is a big hero.

Charles Mitchell says he was working in his yard when Missy scampered up and refused to scram. He says he tried to shoo her home, but Missy stood her ground.

Mitchell finally followed Missy across the street to investigate.

He discovered his neighbor, Charlie Burdon, had collapsed from an attack of vertigo. Burdon also recently had heart surgery. Both men say Missy is their hero.
