LSO ANGELES (AP) - On Friday, the Los Angeles County court system will start laying off and transferring employees.

Presiding Judge Lee Smalley Edmon says the cutbacks, that affect 431 court employees and 56 courtrooms, are the result of a state mandate to reduce annual spending by $30 million.
