WASHINGTON - DC police are investigating some disturbing comments made against the First Lady. A DC police officer is accused of threatening to shoot Michelle Obama.
He hasn't been identified but we do know he worked in a special operations division. The officer is part of a motorcycle detail assigned to escort White House officials including the President. He is at times assigned to the First Lady.
According to the Washington Post the police officer made the threats Wednesday morning during a conversation with other officers about White House security.
He also used his phone to find a picture of the gun he would use. Sources familiar with the investigation say the comments were overheard by another officer who then reported it a higher up.
The remarks appeared to be an off-hand comment and were intended as a joke. It still doesn't sit well with many.
The Secret Service says the First Lady was never in danger. The officer remains on desk duty. We've learned he will likely face administrative action versus criminal charges.
