MEMPHIS - Locating and saving a stray dog became a Facebook movement recently in Memphis.
A woman spotted a pit bull mix in a wooded area in Memphis and snapped the picture. It showed the dog with a jar stuck on her head. Once the picture circled Facebook and other social networking sites, animal lovers knew they had to act quickly. The plastic container over the dogs head prevented her from eating or drinking. A man eventually caught up with dog and took him to a veterinarian. They used wire cutters to cut off the jar.
Once in the care of a vet, they realized she was starving. X-rays revealed she had been struck by a car and shot with a bb gun. She is now being nursed back to health. When she is healthy, they will find her a loving home. The dog is being called Miracle.
