College loan rates set to jump

WASHINGTON -  

Congress has four more days to act, or student loan rates for some could double.

On July 1, the interest on some 7 million federal loans will bump up to 6.8%.

Both sides want the rate to stay where it is, but they just can’t agree on how to come up with the $6 million needed to cover the costs.
