WASHINGTON (AP) -

More than 50 teams of architects, builders and designers are gathering in Washington to construct one of the nation's largest gingerbread towns, and it will be on view to the public this week.

This year's "Gingertown" will be a built Monday evening as a "Gingertown University." It will be on display through Friday downtown at 1133 Connecticut Avenue NW.

Organizers say this year's gingerbread town involves more than 250 pounds of gingerbread, 100 pounds of icing and 10 pounds of gumdrops. It will include buildings such as the "IM Pez Library," the "Swedish Fish Boat House" and "Cadbury Egghead Library"
