The gunman that took his life at a Newton Conn., elementary school has been identified as 20-year-old Adam Lanza of New Jersey.
At least 26 people were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School Friday. As many as 20 of those are believed to be students.
Officials say Lanza went into the school with several weapons. His older brother, Ryan, was questioned as a possible second shooter. Early in the investigation Ryan was named by a law enforcement officer as the shooter. That information was not correct.
The attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School was the latest of several mass shootings in the U.S. this year, and it approached the deadly scope of the Virginia Tech university massacre in 2007 that left 32 dead.
