ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A multi-state, multi-county paving scheme uncovered by ABC2 has landed Annapolis-based paver Tommy Clack in a lot of trouble.  But now Clack has another battle to fight after missing a court appearance.

According to the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office, Clack was scheduled to appear Wednesday to answer two theft charges.  When he failed to appear, a bench warrant was issued.

The charges are unrelated to the paving issues that have resulted in a handful of criminal cases against Clack.  Instead, the State's Attorney's Office says Clack was charged with theft after failing to pay a North Carolina company.

Prosecutors say Clack ordered furnishings and high end electronics, including video game machines, but did not pay the bill after they were delivered to his home.  One of the charges he's alleges includes theft between $10,000 and $100,000.

Clack is the subject of an investigation by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and was recently hit with a cease and desist order by the Maryland Attorney General.  The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division claims Clack has been running a paving company without the proper license and that some of Clack's customers were overcharged by thousands of dollars.
