Baltimore - The popular craigslist website is taking some heat from Maryland's Attorney General. Doug Gansler has joined Attorneys General from 16 other states in asking the site to shut down the 'Adult Services' section.
The website's CEO and founder have been sent a letter that claims that because they do not or cannot police the advertisements for that section, they should stop accepting them.
According to a press release from Gansler's office, ads for prostitution continue to be a major problem on the website. Gansler says, "While the company has made progress in blocking such ads, it is unfortunately not enough. More must be done to combat the human exploitation that these ads foster."
