John Way is the owner of Jiffy Lube in Pikesville. He drives an SUV and understands the pain of high gas prices. He's offering tips to drivers.
"Make sure the tire pressure is correct, clean the air filter and make sure you use the correct grade of oil in your car," says John Way, Jiffy Lube owner.

One issue John sees is improper car care.
"There's dirt you can't even see with the naked eye and that is going to impede my gas mileage," says Way.

Taking care of your car properly is important.  Proper upkeep can save customers up to 55 cents a gallon in gas.

Not only is Jiffy Lube offering advice, but the company also has an incentive to help drivers.
"Everybody is feeling the crunch from the gas prices at the pumps. You can come in and get your basic signature service and you get ten dollars in gas and that saves money in the long run," says Way.

John Way also recommends you have an oil change every 3,000 miles, remove a lot of weight, remove excessive idling, use cruise control and use overdrive gears.
