BRUNSWICK, Md. -

The Frederick County Animal Welfare League told the Brunswick City Council Tuesday night it will trap, spay or neuter, and vaccinate about 60 feral cats in the area.

The league received a $5,500-grant from the Best Friends Animal Society to get the job done, which is expected to take a couple of months to finish.

Barbara Wratten, feral cat coordinator at the league, said she hopes local residents who feed the animals will help trap them. Traps and veterinarians will be employed in the effort.

available to make appointments for vaccinations.
