Tips for picking a plastic surgeon

BALTIMORE - There is no such thing as minor surgery said Dr. Michael Cohen, founder and Medical Director of the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland.

You can get infected during cardiac surgery or even having a mole removed so it is important that where you are being treated is inspected, licensed and accredited, he said.

Cohen, stopped by Good Morning Maryland Thursday to give the following tips to follow before getting plastic surgery.

  • Check your doctor’s credentials
  • Find out where the surgery will take place.  It should be done at a hospital or an accredited ambulatory surgical center
