Teens not getting vaccines

We hear a lot about vaccinating our children, but many teens are not receiving recommended vaccines.
A new study exposes the trend.
Researchers looked at parent questionnaires to understand why moms and dads aren't taking their older children in for recommended inoculations.
When parents of teens were asked why they didn't vaccinate for certain forms of tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and meningitis, parents noted the shots were not recommended and not necessary.
When it comes to the controversial HPV vaccine, some parents also said it was not necessary and in some cases noted their children were not sexually active, or not an appropriate age.
Concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccine has grown over time.
Researchers conclude more doctors need to discuss the benefits of particular vaccines with teens and their parents.
