Psychological abuse is one of the most common forms of child abuse.

But a new report says it is also one of the most difficult to spot.

The report says psychological abuse or maltreatment can lead to severe emotional distress, developmental problems and disruptive behavior.

It's also more common in stressed households dealing with family conflict, mental health problems, violence, depression or substance abuse.

Doctors say parenting can be a challenge and it's important to seek help if you feel like you're struggling.
