According to a report from the Guttmacher institute, most sexually active women use some form of contraception-- regardless of their religious beliefs.

The report, based on a government survey of more than 7000 women, ages 15 to 44 was conducted between 2006 and 2008.

Researchers found 69 percent of sexually active women from any denomination were using ..highly.. effective birth control methods.

They included pills, sterilization and intrauterine devices.

Another key finding was that 68 percent of Catholics use one of those highly effective methods -- while only 2 percent rely on natural family planning.

It's important to note that the Guttmacher Institute is an organization that works to advance reproductive and sexual health worldwide.
