Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have identified a new disease in Asia with AIDS-like symptoms.
The cases date back to 2004, appearing mostly in Taiwan and Thailand.
Patients with the disease make antibodies that attack their immune system, similar to the way AIDS attacks the immune system.
Scientists don't think this new disease is contagious, and say it is not associated with HIV.
There have been about 12 cases of disease in the United States, but no one has died from it in this country.
