A rally will be held Wednesday in Annapolis to push for the legislation of certified professional midwives.
Families from across the state are expected to be there in support of this bill.
The rally will call attention to the lack of midwifery care in Maryland.
Testimony on the bill will be heard during a hearing next month. The issue is ensuring that for those families who make the informed, legal decision to have a homebirth, they have access to a midwife who meets a national standard.
