Despite the injury risks of playing sports, a new study shows fewer kids are getting hurt overall.

Football is the exception.

Total injuries for children ages 5 to 14 dropped more than 11% over the last 10 years.

Football injuries jumped 22% during the same time period.

Injuries from recreational activities like bicycling and roller sports dropped nearly 25%.
